Warm up with food, fashion, and drinks in Lancaster County

Lancaster County, and much of the East Coast, just finished an Indian Summer with temperatures at an all-time high for mid-October with a week of 80-degree weather. Then a swift and powerful wind swept in and announced that fall was officially here. Nothing says fall like good food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere, so here are a few different events and establishments that offer just that. Get a little taste of everything November 18-20 at the Lancaster County Convention Center during the sixth annual Lancaster Wine & Spirits Festival. Restaurants, food vendors, vineyards, breweries, distilleries and more will pack the center with delectable food and beverages for guests to enjoy. In addition to fine food and spirits, visitors can check out demonstrations, and meet guest chefs and celebrity emcees. Also featured is a Fine Wine and Good Spirits pavilion and a Jack Daniel's Virtual Reality Tour. Tickets are $50-$70 and are available for purchase on the website.

On November 12 and 13, the Spooky Nook Sports Arena will host the Artisan Fair. The expo is a combination of the long-standing Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen Craft Fair and highlights many local and national artists' and crafters' pottery, jewelry, clothing, glasswork, woodwork and more. Spooky Nook, a newer and state-of-the-art facility is happy to welcome the fair to its grounds, with plenty of space for crafters and guests, free parking, onsite restaurants and other nearby eateries. Admission is $5.
On November 13, the General Sutter Inn will host a Waltz Wine Dinner, a five-course meal featuring wines from local winery, Waltz Vineyards. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Tickets are $80. On November 20, the Inn will host its popular Murder Mystery Dinner. Presented by Roundtable Productions, guests are challenged to solve the case of "whodunnit" during a four-course dinner in the Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $58 and include the dinner and event. A cash bar is also available.

If you prefer to be outside and enjoy the crisp weather, check out Second Saturdays at Smucker Village on Old Philadelphia Pike in Intercourse. Visitors can enjoy live music while perusing outdoor vendors with local crafts and food. The Treasure Place, an onsite store featuring unique and repurposed furniture and housewares, will have extended hours. Be sure to swing by the Corner Coffee Shop to enjoy a warm drink.

On November 12, the Woman's Club of Ephrata will present its Fashions by Ruthie's Fashion Show at the American Legion in Ephrata, where guests will enjoy lunch and a fashion show. Doors open at 11 a.m. with clothing and accessories available for purchase. Lunch begins at noon with a menu featuring chicken and broccoli crepes, house salad, apple and pear cobbler, and coffee and tea, followed by a fashion show featuring local models. Wine and mimosas will also be available for purchase. Tickets are $25 and tables of eight are also available for purchase. Chinese auction tickets are six for $5. Proceeds benefit the Woman's Club of Ephrata. Deadline for ticket purchase is November 1. For ticket inquiries, call 1-717-859-2847.
